Located at 1.184 meters and famous for its charm with the name of "Fairy of the Dolomites”, Moena is the first town you meet when entering Val di Fassa. Awarded to Green Destinations Awards as a destination that promotes sustainable tourism (in the high season its picturesque historic center, divided into districts, becomes a pedestrian area with alternative means of transport and numerous e-bikes), Moena is lucky enough to be at the foot of the most beautiful Trentino Dolomites. With a very lively Ladin culinary tradition, in Moena it is also possible to taste local products famous all over the world, such as the Puzzone di Moena Dop, the cheese with the unmistakable taste of alpine herbs.
In winter it is a pleasure to ski down the slopes of Alpe Lusia-San Pellegrino Ski Area, a ski area which – within the Dolomiti Superski circuit – includes more than 60 kilometers of slopes, with unique scenarios, perfectly covered in snow until April. And thanks to a functional network of ski lifts, the area is able to satisfy skiers of all levels. Those who want to practice cross-country skiing, on the other hand, will find at the Centro del Fondo Alochet, two kilometers from Passo San Pellegrino, beautiful tracks that wind through large clearings and snow-covered woods. And it is precisely from Moena that the famous Marcialonga di Fiemme and Fassa starts, the most important cross-country skiing granfondo in Italy, held in January.
A few steps from the ski lifts of the Passo San Pellegrino ski area and 12 km from the center of Moena, the TH San Pellegrino Moena – Hotel Monzoni it is the ideal place for an active holiday with the whole family, thanks to its intimate environment and a rich program of outdoor and indoor activities, suitable for all guests, young and old, who will be involved in a world of fun and games. Accompanied by the animators of the TH Crew they will engage in many activities from morning to evening, including ski lessons. In this way, parents too will be able to enjoy a real holiday of sport and entertainment.
All that remains is to pack your suitcase and leave, but when it comes to children and ski holidays, parents are seized by a "suitcase" panic. What to bring? The whole house? Here are some tips:
- Ski suit/overalls: when the children are small and still use the diaper it is better to use overalls, once abandoned the diaper it is better to opt for dungarees adjustable in length.
- Padded jacket: preferably with a hood and in water-repellent fabric, so children can roll around safely in the snow while remaining dry.
- Water repellent gloves: the most comfortable are those with an elastic band that keeps them tied to the wrist, for the little ones it is better to opt for those with a cord that connects the two gloves, to be passed inside the sleeves.
- Snow boots: if you find all the prices, the important thing is that the child hears them comfortable and that they are in water-repellent fabric.
- Cap: for younger children, the most comfortable are those equipped with ear flaps that tie under the chin because they guarantee greater protection for the ears even in the event of wind.
- "Thermal" linen: protects from the cold and at the same time keeps the body dry even when the baby sweats.
- Socks: big for boots.
- Fleece Sweatshirts with a high neck: the most comfortable are those with a long front zip.
- Sun glasses: essential for protecting children's delicate eyes on intense sunny days.
- Sunscreen and cocoa butter: there are also stick versions that are good for the face and lips, comfortable and do not take up any space in your suitcase.
And to stay at the hotel? Light, comfortable clothes and non-slip socks to keep playing.
